What a week comes to
An hourly rate is hard to picture, so here is the same rate expressed as the patterns of care families most often ask us for.

What changes the price
- How much time is needed, which is the main one and usually the only one that matters
- How many people are being cared for. A couple at home is one live-in fee, not two
- Whether two carers are needed for safe moving and handling
- Nights, weekends and bank holidays, which we set out in full before you decide
What does not change it is which street you live on or how urgently you need to start. There is one rate and you have just read it.
Help you may be entitled to
Many families pay privately for years without checking any of this. It is worth an afternoon before you spend anything.
A council care needs assessment
Free, and anyone can ask for one whatever their savings. It establishes what care is needed. A separate financial assessment then decides what, if anything, the council contributes. Start with your local council's adult social care team.
Attendance Allowance
For people over State Pension age who need help with personal care. It is not means tested, so savings and income do not affect it. Details are on GOV.UK.
NHS Continuing Healthcare
Where a need is primarily a health need rather than a social one, the NHS may fund care in full. It is assessed case by case and it is always worth asking about.

Why do so few agencies publish a price?
Most would rather have the conversation first. We take the view that you should be able to work out whether we are in your range before you spend an afternoon on the phone, so our rates are here in public.
Is there a joining fee or a minimum term?
No. No joining fee, no minimum term and no notice period. The assessment visit is free and the decision stays yours afterwards.
Might the council pay for some of this?
Possibly. Anyone can ask their local council for a care needs assessment, whatever their savings, and it is free. What the council contributes depends on that assessment and on a separate financial assessment. We will happily point you to the right place to start.
What about Attendance Allowance?
If someone is over State Pension age and needs help with personal care, Attendance Allowance is not means tested and savings do not affect it. A great many families paying privately have never claimed it, and it is worth twenty minutes on GOV.UK.
