Who we are

At Humble Hands Care, we believe that quality care begins with compassion, dignity and respect.

As a family-owned and family-managed care company, our strong family values are at the heart of everything we do. We understand that choosing care for yourself or a loved one is a very personal decision, which is why we take the time to listen, understand your individual needs and provide care that is truly centred around you.

Whether you are living with an age-related condition, recovering from an illness or injury, or simply finding that you need a little extra support with everyday life, our dedicated team is here to help you remain comfortable, independent and safe in the place you know and love: your own home.

We are not a franchise of a national brand, and not an agency putting a website over a list of names. When you ring Humble Hands, you reach the family who run it. That is deliberate. Care works when the person arranging it, the person delivering it and the family all know each other. It is much easier to keep that true at our size, and it is the reason families stay with us.

What we are registered to do

Our registration covers personal care for adults over 65 and under 65, dementia, physical disability and sensory impairment. Everything the regulator publishes about us is public, and we would rather you read it than take a website's word for anything.

Our name reflects the way we approach what we do: with gentle hands, open hearts and genuine compassion. We are proud to offer a personal approach to care, building trusting relationships with the people we support and their families.

From personal care and everyday support to companionship and help around the home, we are committed to delivering care with kindness, patience and dignity.

Receiving care should never mean losing your independence. Our aim is to support you to keep living life on your own terms, while giving you and your family reassurance.

What we believe

Care is planned around the person, not the rota. That means supporting independence rather than taking it over, and respecting privacy, dignity and the right to make your own choices, including the choices we would not have made.

It also means care that fits the life it is joining. Religious and cultural needs, language, family arrangements and how someone wants to be addressed are part of the plan, not an afterthought. We work to current standards and guidance, and safeguarding adults from harm or abuse is the floor everything else stands on.

The same applies to the people who work for us. Selection, training and development are open to everyone on equal terms, because a team recruited fairly is the one that delivers care fairly.

How we choose our carers

Everything we do is arranged around getting the right person through your front door, and then keeping them there.

• Enhanced DBS checked before a first shift, with references taken up properly
• Trained and kept trained in dementia awareness, moving and handling, medication and safeguarding
• Matched to the household, so temperament and interests count alongside availability
• Supported by us, with a supervisor they can reach at any hour, because well supported carers stay, and carers who stay are what makes care consistent
